PULLMAN, Wash. - Arizona, ranked 19th nationally, showed their dominance at the net with a 15-11, 15-2, 15-11, win over the Washington State University volleyball team before 1,159 fans Saturday night at Beasley Coliseum.

WSU is 12-11 overall, 6-9 in conference play while Arizona advances to 15-8 overall, 9-5 in Pac-10 Conference standings.

Arizona was led by Marisa DeLee's 13 kills, .500 hitting percentage and six blocks. Stefani Saragosa had a match-high seven blocks as the decidedly taller Wildcats out-blocked the Cougs 14 to 3.

WSU freshman Adrian Hankoff had 12 kills while LaToya Harris had 11 kills and 10 digs.

Arizona out-hit WSU .297 to .133.

Arizona ran up a 10-2 lead in the first game but the Cougars roared back with an 8-1 run to come within one point of the Wildcats. Led by the hitting of Lisa Rutledge and Stefani Saragosa, UA reeled off another three points before WSU scored again. Back-to-back Cougar errors gave Arizona game one, 15-11.

UA carried the momentum of the first game into game two, shutting down the Cougs at 5-2 and never looking back for the 15-2 win. Arizona hit .412 while WSU hit -.107.

WSU took an early lead in the third game, 6-1, with Chelsie Schafer playing in the front row in place of Kristen Johnson. The Wildcats scored five unanswered points and it became a "cat" fight. After ties at 7, 8, and 9, Arizona went up 11-9 on Cougar offensive errors. The Wildcats went on to win 15-11.

"We let them (Arizona) off the hook everytime we could do something well," Cougar coach Cindy Fredrick said. "We'd do one thing well and then we'd do five things not well. We just kept letting them back in and letting them back in. And we only stopped them once when they ran the slide, which is the only thing they ran."

WSU travels across the Cascades to play Washington, Friday, Nov. 12.
