SAO PAULO, Brazil - Washington State University freshman midfielder Katie Turney was among 22 players selected to take part in a U-18 Soccer Camp for Canada, her native country.

The camp was held Nov. 29-Dec. 8 and Turney was one of six midfielders on the roster. The Surrey, British Columbia is also one of a half dozen players who are from British Columbia and one of nine who are currently playing collegiately in the United States.

This group of players is expected to provide the nucleus for Canada's U-20 Team at the 2010 Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Championship.

Turney was a key member of the 2010 Cougar team. She appeared in all 20 matches, including 12 starts. Her first-career point was an assist during a 4-0 win over Gonzaga, Oct. 1. Nine days later, Turney recorded her first-collegiate goal in a 1-0 victory over Arizona.
