Another weekend in the books. We didn't get the positive results we were hoping for but we learned a lot from our experiences. One thing we all realized after our game on Sunday against California was that we just played two of the best teams in the country and they were our hardest games yet this season. We started out with Stanford on Friday night, they love to possess the ball and it was beautiful soccer. We came out of the first half being the aggressors; we had our chances on goal but didn't capitalize. The second half was a little different, they came out a little harder but we were ready. We let down for about 15 minutes and that's when they put their lone goal away. We came out with a loss, but we know that we can play and compete with great teams. We had a great lunch at Angela's house on Saturday afternoon, we had some great food and got to visit with our families and just relax. After a little walk through at the California field and a very good dinner we ventured to the WSU volleyball game against the Golden Bears to cheer on our fellow Cougs. Despite their loss we had a great time supporting them.

We played California on Sunday and they came out hard, harder than any team we have played this season. They are a hard nosed team and they have a lot of pace. We held them off in the first half, but the second half they came out even harder. They put away the game in the middle of the second half. The positives that came out of that game was the fact that their coach said that in his nine years of coaching he has never seen his team play that well and that we know we won't let that happen again.

This weekend we are home, we all know how great it feels to play at home in front of a home crowd. We are playing Arizona State and University of Arizona and we are so pumped for the games. We didn't get positive results last year against these teams, so we know that we have to come out ready to rumble this year. We have prepared well this week, working on some details and fine tuning our game. The Pac-10 is always going to bring challenges and surprises; we never know what's going to happen. There is one thing we do know however, we know that this is our house, this is COUGARLAND!!
