PULLMAN, Wash. - FOX Sports Net announced Monday, Feb. 12, that it has selected the Washington State at Oregon match-up for its national wildcard game, Feb. 22, changing the game time to 8 p.m.
Both teams have been ranked amongst the nations best this season with the Cougars currently holding the No. 10 spot in the Associated Press poll and the No. 11 spot in the ESPN/USA Today poll. Oregon is ranked 15th by the Associated Press and 17th by ESPN/USA Today.
The two squads have already faced off once this season, resulting in an overtime Cougar loss, 77-74, Jan. 27 at Friel Court. Oregon's Maarty Leunen sank two free throws with 0.5 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime, 64-64.
In the extra period, Oregon (No.7 at the time) took over registering 10 unanswered points before junior Derrick Low brought the Cougars back within reach hitting two three-pointers and four free throws. Low's effort wasn't enough though as the Ducks hung on to take the overtime victory.
