POSTGAME QUOTES
Washington State vs. California - Feb. 12, 2011 - Pullman, Wash. (Beasley Coliseum)
Final Score: Washington State 75, California 71

Washington State Quotes:

Head Coach Ken Bone
On the game...
"It was like a slug-fest early. Neither team looked good offensively. But I think both teams had it in their minds to come out there and play hard. Especially the way things went for them in Seattle the other night and the way things went for us. It was not the prettiest game, especially in the beginning."

On the 3-point shooting...
"We needed those three (in the second half). It's hard because I think we have some good 3-point shooters and we get a lot of shots up, we encourage them to shoot, obviously. Hopefully they'll get their confidence back and start draining some of those."

On coming back towards the end...
"After their run we had to bounce back, gain our composure and drain some shots to get the lead back."

On Brock Motum's performance and the play from the bench...
"I'm glad for Brock. He's been working hard. He doesn't get a tremendous amount of minutes, but with Abe being in foul trouble tonight, he played more minutes and did a great job. Not just his scoring, I thought he did a great job defensively. A couple of those kids, Markhuri Sanders-Frison and Harper Kamp, those are big, strong kids. That's why we started Abe tonight, to match up with their physicality.

Sophomore Forward Brock Motum
On the game...
"It wasn't a pretty game, but a win's a win. I don't think all the games are going to be pretty. You have to grind out some, and we were able to grind it out today."

On Cal's size inside...
"They're some big bodies inside and their zone keeps it pretty tight. We were able to get the ball inside and our shooters were able to hit some shots outside and open it up."

"I just have a good feel for the game. They look for me, I have my hands ready looking for the pass. You put two and two together and see what happens."

Junior Guard Klay Thompson
On the 3-point shooting...
"We've been seeing so much zone lately that we have to do a better job just moving the ball and figuring out ways to get good shots. I think the last four games we've been zoned every time. We'll have to adjust if we see these teams again and it's just a good learning experience. Some nights we're just going to make all our shots. Tonight we made enough."
