PRAGUE – The Washington State University women’s basketball team continues its 10-day foreign trip through Europe, accompanied by six family members of WSU student-athletes.

Seniors Hana Potter, Sage Romberg, and Brandi Thomas, as well as sophomore Mariah Cooks have family members along on their travels through Europe.

Potter is joined by her mother Meredith and stepfather John.

“Well, we came because Hana is a senior,” said Potter’s mother Meredith. “We just want to share her senior year with her. I’m looking forward to visiting Prague, and Bratislava was darling.”

Sage with family

Romberg is accompanied by her mother Diane.

“I’d never been to Europe. But most of all, Sage wanted me to come with her,” said Romberg’s mother Diane. “I really enjoy hanging out with the whole team.”

Brandi with family

Thomas has mother, Mary, and grandmother, Betty, along on the trip.

“When Brandi first started playing at Washington State, I said, ‘If she ever goes to Europe, we’re going,’” Thomas’s grandmother Betty said.

Cooks is also accompanied by a family member, as her mother Stephanie is traveling with the team.

“I came to Europe to spend time with my lovely daughter and have an experience I would have never had if it wasn’t for Washington State,” Cooks’ mother Stephanie explained.

While in Prague, WSU will face three more European opponents and also have the opportunity to sightsee at the Prague Castle and take a boat tour on the Vltava River. The Cougars will return to Pullman Aug. 16.
