Adomaviciute to Compete with Lithuanian U23 Team

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University rowing rising-senior, Ieva Adomaviciute has been chosen to represent Lithuania at the 2015 World Rowing Under-23 Championships, July 22-26 at Plovdiv, Bulgaria, it was announced recently.

A native of Kaunas, Lithuania, Adomaviciute will compete by herself in the women's single (1x) event. Her WSU teammates, Morgan Cathrea and Nicole Hare will both be competing with Canada and will race in the women's four.

Adomaviciute is a three-year member of the WSU rowing team and has competed with the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four during her time as a Cougar. She helped lead the rowing team to three-straight NCAA Championships, including an eighth-place team finish at the 2015 NCAA Championships. She raced in the six seat of the varsity eight crew which finished ninth at this year's national championships. Following her freshman year in 2013, Adomaviciute was selected as the Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year.

Adomaviciute rowed for Lithuania at both the 2013 World University Games and 2013 World Rowing U23 Championships.
