SEATTLE -- Washington State track performers had four lifetime-best marks Friday night during the UW Invitational first day’s events at the Dempsey Indoor Facility in Seattle.
Junior CharLee Linton (Shorewood, Wash.) ran a lifetime-best time in the women’s 5000m of 16 minutes, 56.43 seconds for seventh place overall and the fifth-best finish by a collegian. Devon Bortfeld’s time of 17:38.22 was 21st and Morgan Willson ran a time of 17:44.21 for 25th.
Forrest Shaffer (senior, Petaluma, Calif.) knocked over 10 seconds off his PR time in the men’s 5000m with a sixth-place finish in a time of 14:24.20.
In the women’s 200m dash, Dominique Keel’s time of 24.96 seconds was fourth place with Danielle Darden’s time of 25.02 was eighth, and Mimi Brown’s PR time of 25.30 was 12th place.
Freshman Zach Smith (Bremerton, Wash.) ran a PR time of 22.43 for 10th place in the men’s 200m with Kyle Farmer 18th in a time of 22.82.
In the Friday night flight, Samantha Andrada (senior, Orting, Wash.) pole vaulted 12-feet even (3.66m) and Beth Parrish cleared the bar at 11-0 1/4 (3.36m). Places will be determined after the second flight Saturday.
Brock Eager took 10th in the men’s weight throw with a toss of 53-9 (16.38m).
The UW Invitational continues Saturday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m.
